The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Customer may return to the dealer with the complaint of a disc stuck in the radio or a damaged disc.

If the Navigation disc is stuck in the CD slot on a Black Tie radio, refer to PIT4251A.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Technicians should attempt to remove the stuck disc using published service information procedures only. If the disc cannot be removed after reviewing all applicable bulletins and/or following the published service information techniques, the dealer must call an Electronic Service Center (ESC) to obtain a replacement radio. If it is determined that the radio needs replacing, dealers must order a new NAV disc by calling the Disc Center @ 1-877-NAV-DISC (1-877-628-3472).

Important Note: DO NOT attempt to disassemble the radio to remove any damaged or stuck discs because the ESC will return the radio to the supplier for failure analysis. The customer's personal discs will be returned to the dealer once extracted from the radio. If the NAV disc is damaged the dealer must call the Disc Center (1-877-628-3472) to obtain a replacement NAV disc.

Note: Both the NAV radio and the NAV disc can be shipped overnight from their respective sources upon request.

Note: If the vehicle is being repaired under warranty, obtain the NAV disc from the navigation disc center. The new disc will be charged to the dealership and should be claimed under warranty.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
