The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

The Electronic Service Centers (ESC) are not authorized to remove stuck navigation discs from replacement radio cores because the cores must be returned to the supplier for analysis prior to any disassembly. This means that dealers must ensure that the Navigation Disc is removed from the radio prior to returning it to the ESC for repair/exchange.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the current disc is damaged and cannot be removed, the dealer must call an Electronic Service Center (ESC) to obtain a radio and then call the Disc Center for a replacement disc. Both the radio and the disc can be shipped overnight from their respective sources upon request. The Disc Center can be reached at 1-877-NAV-DISC (1-877-628-3472).

Note: If the vehicle is being repaired under Warranty or a Goodwill repair, Please request the replacement disc at no charge and advise the disc center that you are replacing the disc because the old disc was damaged by or stuck in the defective radio.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
