The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may state that the content theft alarm will activate when sitting by itself at times. This may be noticed after the vehicle was in the dealer for some type of repair with the electronic suspension.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the vehicle is equipped with Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) and has had a GM Accessory Theft Deterrent Inclination Sensor installed, the suspension control module may have been reprogrammed or replaced. If the proper calibration is not selected for the suspension module, it is possible for the content theft alarm to activate when the automatic level ride activates. When programming the electronic suspension module, you need to determine if the vehicle has an inclination sensor (SPO accessory) to select the correct calibration for the electronic suspension module. An RPO does not exist since this is installed at the dealer.

Note: If you are unsure if the vehicle is equipped with a Inclination Sensor, remove the left floor heater duct assembly and check for a module that is attached to the duct by a adhesive pad

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
