The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some owners may bring there vehicles in to the dealer with a complaint of the roof vibrating or a body boom noise at highway speed. The vibration may be percieved as a tire and/or wheel vibration and the EVA tool may show the vibration being within acceptable levels. The concern will go away if you safely secure a 40 lb bag ( IE Salt, Sand, ETC ) on top of the roof at the rear of the vehicle.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To correct this concern, remove the headliner and install 30-40 " 10 X 10" sound dampener pads to the underside center rear of the roof sheet metal.

One supplier of the sound dampeners is Kent Automotive at 1-888-YES-Kent. The kent part number for the 10 X 10 pads is : P32947 or equivalent, it comes in a quantity of ten per part number.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
