The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some owners may comment that the drivers outside auto dimming mirror RPO DL3 or DL7 has double vision or a ghost image. The auto dimming mirror uses a 3rd surface chrome glass, where as a mirror without auto dimming uses 1st surface chrome glass. The
stack up of the auto dimming mirror is 1st a clear glass, 2nd auto dimming fluid, 3rd the chrome surface glass. Due to the auto dimming fluid being between the clear glass and the chrome surface glass, some customers may notice double vision or a ghost image,
which is a normal characteristic and replacing the mirror will not correct the concern.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Normal characteristic and no repairs should be performed.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
