The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
SERVICE VME
Starting with the 2003 model year, the rear infrared (wireless) headphones will only be included in vehicles with GM installed DVD system RPO U42. Any 2003 vehicle built without the DVD system will not have the wired rear headphones in the vehicle. Obtaining
the wired rear headphones will now be the responsibility of the customer.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
