The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

SERVICE VME

Reports have been received of ice build-up in the area of the front door lower hinge pillars. If there is a significant amount of ice in this area, the lower front corner of the door will buckle outward when it is opened. This is predominantly an issue with vehicles in storage on dealership lots. If snow accumulates on the upper surfaces of the vehicle, and begins to melt, the water run-off may freeze in the cavity at the bottom of the hinge pillar and continue to build in the same manner that an icicle does. The only way to prevent this is to clean the snow from the vehicles before it is allowed to melt. Icicles on the outside of the vehicle at the lower front corner of the door is an indication that the door may sustain damage if it is opened.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
