Front Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement RWD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 750558  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Referto Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  4. Remove the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts.

  5. Object Number: 675089  Size: SH
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt from the wheel hub and bearing.
  7. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor from the wheel hub and bearing.

  8. Object Number: 750559  Size: SH
  9. Disengage wheel hub and bearing from steering knuckle.
  10. Remove wheel speed sensor through the access hole in the splash shield.
  11. Remove the wheel hub and bearing and splash shield.
  12. Remove the splash shield from the wheel hub and bearing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 750559  Size: SH
  1. Install the splash shield to the wheel hub and bearing.
  2. Install the wheel speed sensor through the access hole in the splash shield.
  3. Install the wheel hub and bearing and splash shield to the steering knuckle.

  4. Object Number: 675089  Size: SH
  5. Install the wheel speedsensor to the wheel hub and bearing.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to the wheel huband bearing.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to 18 N·m(13 lb ft).

  9. Install the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts to 180 N·m(133 lb ft).

  11. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  12. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  13. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 130905  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Referto Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  4. Remove the wheel drive shaft nut and the washer.

  5. Object Number: 899220  Size: SH
  6. Disengage the wheel driveshaft from the wheel hub and bearing using J 45859 .

  7. Object Number: 404316  Size: SH
  8. Remove the wheel hub andbearing mounting bolts.

  9. Object Number: 675089  Size: SH
  10. Remove the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt from the wheel hub and bearing.
  11. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor from the wheel hub and bearing.

  12. Object Number: 404315  Size: SH
  13. Disengage wheel hub and splash shield from steering knuckle.
  14. Remove wheel speed sensor through the access hole in the splash shield.
  15. Remove the wheel hub and bearing and splash shield.
  16. Remove the splash shield from wheel hub and bearing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 404315  Size: SH
  1. Install the splash shield to the wheel hub and bearing.
  2. Install the wheel speed sensor through the access hole in the splash shield.
  3. Install the wheel hub and bearing and splash shield to the steering knuckle.

  4. Object Number: 675089  Size: SH
  5. Install the wheel speedsensor to the wheel hub and bearing.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to the wheel huband bearing.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to 18 N·m(13 lb ft).

  9. Install the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts to 180 N·m(133 lb ft).


    Object Number: 130905  Size: SH
  11. Install the wheel driveshaft washer and the nut.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel drive shaft nut to 200 N·m (147 lb ft).

  13. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  14. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
