Disassembly Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 360577  Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  3. Remove the wire harness assembly (4) out of the wire harness strap (5).
  4. Remove the wire harness straps (3) from the wire harness assembly (4).

    Remove the wire harness strap (2) from the upper tilt head assembly (1).

  5. Slide the 2 connectors (2) off from the bulk head connector (1).

  6. Object Number: 324882  Size: SH
  7. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case (2).
  8. Remove the 2 tapping screws from the ignition switch assembly (3).
  9. Remove the ignition switch assembly (3).

Assembly Procedure


    Object Number: 324882  Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition switch assembly (3) onto the ignition lock cylinder case (2).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 2 tapping screws into the ignition switch assembly (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. Install the key alarm connector (1) to the ignition lock cylinder case (2).

  7. Slide the 2 connectors (2) onto the bulk head connector (1).

  8. Object Number: 360577  Size: SH

    Caution: Improper routing of the wire harness assembly may damage the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. This may result in a malfunction of the coil, which may cause personal injury.

  9. Install the wire harness strap (2) into the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
  10. Install the wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).
  11. Install the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness strap (5).
  12. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
