Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 439171  Size: SH
  1. Remove the liftgate garnish molding. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement in Body Rear End.
  2. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the wiper arm from the wiper motor. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement .
  4. Remove the nut, the spacer, and the seal.
  5. Remove the two bolts and the wiper motor from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the wiper motor to the liftgate with the two bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 7.0 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Install the seal, the spacer, and the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 6.0 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the wiper arm and blade. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement .
  6. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  7. Install the liftgate garnish molding. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement in Body Rear End.
