Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 363396  Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine wiring harness bracket from the stud.

  4. Object Number: 309184  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge pipe.

  6. Object Number: 309181  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.

  8. Object Number: 309187  Size: SH
  9. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve mounting nuts.

  10. Object Number: 309179  Size: SH
  11. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve from the intake manifold.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 309179  Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP canister purge valve to the intake manifold.

  2. Object Number: 309187  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the EVAP canister purge valve mounting nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.

  6. Object Number: 309184  Size: SH
  7. Connect the EVAP canister purge pipe.

  8. Object Number: 363396  Size: SH
  9. Install the engine wiring harness bracket to the stud.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  11. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
