Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement Pontiac

1. Remove the tilt steering lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column -- Tilt.
2. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers.



3. Remove the screws (5) from the cluster trim plate (1).
4. Gently pry out the cluster trim plate (1).

1. Align the cluster trim plate tabs to the retainers.
2. Install the screws (5) to the cluster trim plate (1).
3. Install the steering column upper and lower covers.
4. Install the tilt steering lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column -- Tilt.

Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement Oldsmobile

Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

•	Air bag deployment

•	Personal injury

•	Unnecessary SIR system repairs

In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:

•	Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.

•	If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.



2. Remove the accessory trim plates. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
3. Remove the screws (1) from the cluster trim plate (2).
4. Gently pry out the cluster trim plate (2).

1. Install the cluster trim plate (2).
2. Install the screws (1) to the trim plate (2).
3. Install the accessory trim plates. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
