Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Open the left front door.
  2. Backprobe the body control module (BCM) connector C2 using a J 39200 DMM.
  3. Measure the voltage between terminal B1 and ground.

Is the voltage measured to the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 2

Go to Step 3

  1. Backprobe the body control module (BCM) connector C3 using a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal A11 and battery positive voltage.

Is the voltage measured to the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Replace the BCM.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the left IP junction block connector C2.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Measure the resistance in CKT 1732 between the BCM and the left IP junction block.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

0-2 ohms

Go to Step 6

Repair the open circuit condition in CKT 1732 between the BCM and the left IP junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance in CKT 156 between the BCM and the left IP junction block.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

0-2 ohms

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair the open circuit condition in CKT 156 between the BCM and the left IP junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Replace the left IP junction block.
