Tail Lamp Replacement Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 329507  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear compartment carpet. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Body Rear End.
  2. Remove the tail lamp retaining thumb nuts.
  3. Remove the socket from the tail lamp assembly.
  4. Twist the socket and pull the socket outward.

  5. Remove the tail lamp assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 329507  Size: SH
  1. Install the socket to the tail lamp.
  2. Push inward on the socket and twist until the socket is retained.

  3. Install the tail lamp assembly to the vehicle.
  4. Install the tail lamp retainer thumb nuts.
  5. Ensure the nuts are snug.

    Do not overtighten.

  6. Install the rear compartment carpet. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Body Rear End.

Tail Lamp Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure

Important: 

   • Exercise care in order to prevent waterleaks at the tail lamp area when the surfaces are disturbed.
   • Replace any damaged gaskets.
   • Use a sealer (body caulking compound or equivalent) if you do not install a new gasket.

  1. Remove the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Body Rear End.

  2. Object Number: 329538  Size: SH
  3. Remove the tail lamp retainer thumb nuts.
  4. Remove the tail lamp from the vehicle.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the tail lamp.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 329538  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the tail lamp.
  2. Install the tail lamp to the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the tail lamp retainer thumb nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the rear compartment carpet. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Body Rear End.
