High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 329503  Size: SH
  1. Open the rear deck lid.
  2. Remove the nuts which attach the stoplamp to the deck lid.
  3. Remove the screws which retain the sockets to the lamp assembly.
  4. Remove the bulb from the socket.
  5. Twist the bulb and pull outward.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bulb to the socket.
  2. Install the socket to the lamp assembly.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws which retain the socket to the lamp assembly.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the stoplamp socket to lamp assembly to 2 N·m (17 lb in).

  6. Install the 2 nuts that hold the stoplamp to the deck lid.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the stoplamp to the deck lid to 3 N·m (53 lb in).

  8. Close the deck lid.

  1. Open the rear deck lid.
  2. Remove the screws which retain the socket to the lamp assembly.
  3. Remove the socket from the lamp assembly.
  4. Remove the bulbs from the socket.
  5. Twist the bulb and pull outward.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 329502  Size: SH
  1. Install the bulbs to the socket.
  2. Push the bulb inward and twist until the bulb is retained.

  3. Install the socket to the lamp assembly.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
