  1. Drive the vehicle above 40 km/h (25 mph).
  2. Depress and release the cruise ON/OFF button.
  3. Press the cruise control SET/COAST button and release.
  4. Remove foot from the accelerator pedal.

The CRUISE indicator illuminates and the vehicle maintains the set speed.

Cruise Control Inoperative

  1. Press the cruise control RES/ACCEL switch and hold until the vehicle speed increases by 6.4-8.0 km/h (4-5 mph).
  2. Release the cruise control RES/ACCEL switch.

The vehicle accelerates and maintains the new higher set speed.

Cruise Control Inoperative

  1. Press the cruise control SET/COAST switch and hold in the position until the vehicle speed decreases by 6.4-8.0 km/h (4-5 mph).
  2. Release the cruise control SET/COAST switch.

The vehicle decelerates and maintains the new lower speed, provided that the speed is above 40 km/h (25 mph).

Cruise Control Inoperative

Press the cruise ON/OFF button (Pontiac) or depress the cruise CANCEL switch (Oldsmobile).

The cruise control disengages (Memory unchanged).

Press the brake pedal slightly.

Press the cruise control RES/ACCEL button.

Tap the cruise control switch RES/ACCEL button once (tap-up) and release (less than 3/4 of a second).

The vehicle speed increases by approximately 1.6 km/h (1 mph) and maintains the new set speed.
