Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement 3.4L

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 200310  Size: SH
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Notice: Twist the spark plug boot one-half turn in order to release the boot. Pull on the spark plug boot only. Do not pull on the spark plug wire or the wire could be damaged.

  3. Note the position of the spark plug wires. Remove the spark plug wires from the front spark plugs by twisting the boot ½ turn before removing the spark plug boots.
  4. Note the position of the spark plug wire retaining clips (2). Remove the spark plug wire retaining clips from the engine.
  5. Rotate the engine forward.

  6. Object Number: 200323  Size: SH
  7. Remove the spark plug wire(s) from the rear spark plug(s).
  8. Remove the spark plug wire retaining clips (3) from the rear of the engine.

  9. Object Number: 162818  Size: SH
  10. Remove the spark plug wires from the ignition coils.

  11. Object Number: 200310  Size: SH
  12. Remove the spark plug wires from the engine.
  13. If replacing the spark plug wires, transfer any of the following:
  14. • Boot heat shields
    • Spark plug wire conduit
    • Spark plug wire retaining clips (2)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 162818  Size: SH
  1. Install the spark plug wires to the engine.
  2. Install the spark plug wires to the ignition coils.

  3. Object Number: 200323  Size: SH
  4. Install the spark plug wires to the rear spark plugs.
  5. Install the spark plug wire retaining clips (3) at the rear of the engine.
  6. Return the engine to the proper position.

  7. Object Number: 200310  Size: SH
  8. Install the spark plug wires to the front spark plugs.
  9. Install the spark plug wire retaining clips (2) to the front of the engine.
