Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement RPO LH2

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 649303  Size: SH
  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement for the 4.6L (LH2) engine.
  2. Using the J 25034-C , remove the pulley from the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 643361  Size: SH
  1. Using the J 25033-C , install the power steering pump pulley onto the power steering pump.

  2. Object Number: 254752  Size: SH

    Important: The pulley must be installed onto pump shaft so that the pulley hub is flush to within 0.25 mm (0.010 in) with the pump shaft.

  3. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement for the 4.6L (LH2) engine.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  2. Remove the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Supercharger Belt Replacement.
  3. Remove the air conditioner belt tensioner. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Tensioner Replacement.

Power Steering Pump Pulley Bolt (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)

Power Steering Pump Pulley Assembly

Procedure

  1. Pull the power steering pump pulley off of the splined shaft.
  2. When removing or replacing the power steering pump pulley a special purpose grease must be applied to the splined shaft of the power steering pump.
  3. Apply grease GM P/N 1051344 (Canadian P/N 993037) to the splines on the power steering pump shaft.
  4. Ensure the axial tolerance of the pulley on the power pump shaft is within 0.25 mm (0.010 in).
