Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1224684 Size: SH
  1. Open the door on the instrument panel (I/P) passenger compartment.
  2. Disconnect the door dampener.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the I/P compartment lamp switch.
  4. With the compartment open, depress both rear corners of the compartment and swing the compartment down towards the floor.
  5. Starting at the outboard side, release the compartment hinge from the pin at the bottom of the door.
  6. Slowly pull the I/P compartment far enough to disconnect the wiring harness connector from the inflatable restraint module switch.
  7. Remove the I/P compartment.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the wiring harness connector to the inflatable restraint module switch connector.
  2. Align the I/P compartment to the lower I/P carrier pins.
  3. Starting at the inboard side, push on the compartment to engage the pin to the I/P compartment hinge.
  4. Depress the I/P compartment back corners and swing the compartment upward into the I/P. Release the corners.
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the I/P compartment lamp switch.
  6. Close the I/P passenger compartment door.
