Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2008 🢒 XLR 🢒 Diagnostic Navigation 🢒 Vehicle Diagnostic Information 🢒 Parking Brake Release Solenoid Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the LH lower closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  2. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1237666 Size: SH
  3. Remove the park brake assembly attaching nuts (1) and bolt (2).

    4. Object Number: 658944 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the park brake switch electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the park brake release solenoid electrical connector.
  6. Position the park brake pedal assembly aside to gain access to the park brake release solenoid.

    7. Object Number: 1238772 Size: SH
  7. Remove the park brake release solenoid mounting bolt (2).
  8. Remove the park brake release solenoid (1) from the park brake pedal assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1238772 Size: SH
  1. Install the park brake release solenoid (1) from the park brake pedal assembly.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the park brake release solenoid mounting bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  3. Position the park brake pedal assembly .
  4. Install the park brake assembly attaching nuts and bolt.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the park brake release solenoid electrical connector.

    6. Object Number: 658944 Size: SH
  6. Connect the park brake switch electrical connector.
  7. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  8. Install the LH lower closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  9. Apply the park brake pedal and release 2-3 times, to ensure proper function of the park brake system.
