Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Replacement.
  2. Remove the door manual release actuator. Refer to Door Inside Manual Release Actuator Replacement.
  3. Remove the door sill trim plate. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 71197  Size: SH
  5. Remove the accelerator pedal stop bracket.

  6. Object Number: 282004  Size: SH
  7. Remove the driver foot rest.

  8. Object Number: 1298002  Size: SH
  9. Pull the carpet from under the I/P and accessory trim plate. The graphic shows the driver side; the passenger side is similar.
  10. Pull the carpet from under both sides of the center console.
  11. Pull the carpet down and out from the bottom of the rear window trim panel.
  12. Pull the seat electrical connector down through the carpet
  13. Remove the carpet.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1298002  Size: SH

    Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

  1. Position the carpet over the floor.
  2. Pull the electrical connector up through the carpet
  3. Tuck the carpet under the accelerator pedal.
  4. Tuck the carpet under the bottom of the rear window trim panel.
  5. Tuck the carpet under both sides of the console.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 71197  Size: SH
  7. Install the accelerator pedal stop.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the stop nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the driver side foot rest.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the foot rest nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Tuck the carpet under the I/P and accessory trim plate.
  12. Install the side sill trim plate. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  13. Install the door manual release actuator. Refer to Door Inside Manual Release Actuator Replacement.
  14. Install the seat. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Replacement.
