Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2005 🢒 XLR 🢒 Body 🢒 Wiring Systems 🢒 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    2. Object Number: 1261655 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure switch.

    3. Object Number: 1261659 Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine oil pressure switch from the oil filter adapter using a snap-on S 6152 Oil Pressure Sender Switch Crowfoot Wrench™ (1 1/16") or equivalent.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1261656 Size: SH
  1. Install a new O-ring on the oil pressure switch.

    2. Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine oil pressure switch to the oil filter adapter using a Snap-On™ S 6152 Oil Pressure Sender Switch Crowfoot Wrench (1 1/16") or equivalent.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil pressure switch to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil pressure switch.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Adjust the engine oil level to the full mark.
  6. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
