Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.

  2. Object Number: 1239225  Size: SH
  3. Remove the left front section (1) of the air cleaner assembly.

  4. Object Number: 1237161  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the distance sensing cruise control (DSCC) module.

  6. Object Number: 1239220  Size: SH
  7. Remove the DSCC module cover from the fascia (1).

  8. Object Number: 1239661  Size: SH
  9. Remove the three bolts (1) attaching the DSCC module to the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the DSCC module to the bracket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1239661  Size: SH
  3. Hand tighten the three bolts that attach the DSCC module to the bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the DSCC module.

  6. Object Number: 1239220  Size: SH
  7. Install the DSCC module cover to the fascia (1).

  8. Object Number: 1239225  Size: SH
  9. Install the left front section (1) of the air cleaner assembly.
  10. Close the hood.
  11. Important: After replacing the DSCC module the next two steps are needed for the ACC system to perform properly.

  12. With the scan tool, change the Automatic Alignment Learn Status Parameter in the DSCC module scan tool data list to Not Aligned after replacing a DSCC module. This allows the new DSCC module to automatically align to the vehicle. Refer to Scan Tool Data List and Cruise Control Description and Operation .
  13. Performance of the ACC system may be degraded after a DSCC module replacement. Normal vehicle driving will correct the performance of the ACC system. Refer to Cruise Control Description and Operation .
  14. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
  15. If the new module is being placed in a vehicle in Japan, a calibration procedure needs to be performed by the technician.
  16. Using the Tech 2 perform the following procedure. Refer to Scan Tool Output Controls .
