Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2005 🢒 XLR 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.6L (LH2) 🢒 Starter Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 4.6L (LH2).

    3. Object Number: 1237944 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the BAT cable (2) from the starter.
  4. Disconnect the wire from the "S" terminal (4) on the starter.

    5. Object Number: 54606 Size: SH
  5. Remove the  2 starter motor mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the starter motor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1237944 Size: SH
  1. Install the starter motor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the starter motor mounting bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the starter motor mounting bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  3. Connect the starter motor "S" terminal wire (4).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the starter solenoid S terminal nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  4. Connect the starter motor BAT terminal wire (2).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the battery cable to starter terminal nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 4.6L (LH2).
  6. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
