Removal Procedure

  1. Place the window in the full up position.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 576949  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).

  6. Object Number: 507065  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) from the door latch retainer clip (2).

  8. Object Number: 105418  Size: SH
  9. Remove the lock knob.
  10. Remove the lock rod bell crank from the door.

  11. Object Number: 576949  Size: SH
  12. Remove the three fasteners (3) from the door latch.
  13. Remove the door latch (2) from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 576949  Size: SH
  1. Install the door latch (2) into the door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the three fasteners (3) in order to secure the door latch to the door.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the door latch fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Snap the lock rod bell crank into the door.
  6. Install the lock knob.

  7. Object Number: 105412  Size: SH
  8. Connect the outside door handle rod to the latch in the following order:
  9. 5.1. Insert the rod (1) into the retainer clip (2) on the door latch assembly.
    5.2. Close the clip (2).

  10. Connect the electrical connectors (1).
  11. Inspect the door handle and lock cylinder for proper operation.
  12. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  13. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
