Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 602330  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine sight shield retaining bolts and the engine sight shield.
  2. Disconnect the ignition control module electrical connector.
  3. Remove the engine oil level indicator.

  4. Object Number: 602328  Size: SH
  5. Using the removal sequence, remove the ignition assembly retaining bolts.
  6. Carefully, remove the ignition assembly.

  7. Object Number: 602331  Size: SH
  8. Remove the ignition control module retaining screws.
  9. Remove the ignition control module.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 602331  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the ignition control module.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition control module retaining screws to 0.8 N·m (7 lb in).

    Important: Be sure the ignition assembly grounding spring and insulator are in place when installing the ignition assembly.

  3. Connect the spark plug boots to the spark plugs.
  4. Carefully, install the ignition assembly.

  5. Install the ignition assembly retaining bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Using the installation torque sequence, tighten the ignition assembly retaining bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Reconnect the ignition assembly electrical connector.
  8. Install the engine sight shield and retaining bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the engine sight shield retaining bolts to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  10. Install the engine oil level indicator.
