1987 WARRANTY COVERAGE UPDATED CHART

Due to the changes to the new vehicle warranties for 1987 models, we have updated the Cadillac warranty coverage chart which was distributed with DSIB 87-1-13 last November. One side lists the new car coverages for 1982 through 1986 models. The reverse side shows the 1987 new car coverages based on the delivery date along with the Cadillac Allante Assurance Plan. The blue charts previously published should be discarded.

We are also pleased to announce that along with the updated Cadillac warranty coverage chart, we have developed a new 1983 - 1987 Warranty Coverage Quick Reference Guide. This new Guide is in pocket-size format and includes the following essential warranty information:

o Warranty Coverages for 1983-1987 model year vehicles o Itemized Powertrain and Major Assembly Components o Warranty Transfer Procedures o Value Protection Plan Administration o Value Protection Plan Components o Product Recall Campaign/Special Policy Check List.

This information will also be included in a future Warranty and Transportation Claim Preparation Manual revision in 8 1/2 " x ll"format.

Enclosed are two laminated Cadillac warranty coverage charts and a quantity of Warranty Coverage Quick Reference Guides. We are confident that these new training aids will be invaluable for all personnel responsible for warranty administration within the dealership. A limited supply of extra charts and Quick Reference Guides are available from your Cadillac Zone Office.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
