TIRE COMPANY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

MODELS AFFECTED: ALL MODELS

All tire manufacturers who supply tires to GM have warranty assistance programs which enable the dealer to handle customer tire problems in the dealership without entering into any type of sales or service agreement with the manufacturers. All of these tire warranty assistance programs now have toll-free telephone numbers.

These programs enable a dealer to obtain a replacement tire directly from the tire manufacturer without the involvement of a local tire outiet. This is especially valuable if a particular size is unavailable locally, or when the tire outlet is inconveniently located. Of course, current tire adjustment procedures through local tire outlets continue as in the past.

The phone numbers may also be used for technical information, tire warranty questions, and any other tire inquiries.

We urge you to use these programs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by handling tire warranty adjustments whenever necessary.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
