WIRE AND ALUMINUM WHEEL COVER INFORMATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: All Vehicles with Locking Wheel Discs or Locking Wheel Nuts

The following is additional information to that published in Bulletin 3-104 (1984).

LOCKING WIRE WHEEL DISCS

Wire Wheel Cover Company

These wire wheel covers require a 'T' shaped lock key wrench. The wrench will have a letter stamped on its cylinder portion and a coloured plastic cap on the top of the cylinder. The pattern is known as a groove pattern and is illustrated below.

Examples of this design can be seen on the 1985 Oldsmobile 98.

NORIS INDUSTRIES

Norris and ITT Thompson Systems are being used on 1985 Cadillac C FWD Deville and Fleetwood. The Norris system is a new spline pattern which is larger in diameter than the ITT Thompson system. This Norris system is colour coded and is available from:

Other wire wheel cover replacement parts for 1985 Cadillac C-cars can be ordered from GM parts per the GM Parts Catalogue. These parts (except for flanged lug nuts) are specific to the manufacturer (i.e. Norris, ITT). The two systems can be differentiated as follows:

McGard

An additional McGard system is in use. Examples of this system can be seen on late 1984 and 1985 Corvettes, and 1984 Fieros. These wrenches are shrouded and have a larger pattern than other McGard systems (see illustration below).
