Transmission Mount Replacement All Wheel Drive

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement.
  3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack and a block of wood.

    4. Object Number: 1850371 Size: SH
  4. Remove the transmission vent hose from the retainers (6) on the mount assembly.

    5. Object Number: 1850365 Size: SH
  5. Remove the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts.

    6. Object Number: 1850363 Size: SH
  6. Remove the transmission mount support to transfer case mounting bolts.
  7. Remove the transmission mount support assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the transmission mount support assembly to the vehicle.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1850363 Size: SH

    Note: The transmission mount bolts must be tightened in the proper order.

  2. Install by hand the transmission mount support to transfer case mounting bolts.
    3. 2.1. Tighten the right side bolt to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).
    2.2. Tighten the left side bolt to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

  3. Install the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts and tighten to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

    4. Object Number: 1850371 Size: SH
  4. Install the transmission vent hose to the retainers (6) on the mount assembly.
  5. Remove the transmission jack.
  6. Install the exhaust system.
  7. Lower the vehicle.

Transmission Mount Replacement Rear Wheel Drive

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement.
  3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack and a block of wood.

    4. Object Number: 1850370 Size: SH
  4. Remove the transmission vent hose from the retainers (6) on the mount assembly.
  5. Remove the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts.

    6. Object Number: 1649726 Size: SH
  6. Remove the transmission mount support to transmission mounting bolts.
  7. Remove the transmission mount support assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the transmission mount support assembly to the vehicle.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1649726 Size: SH
  2. Install the transmission mount support to transmission mounting bolts and tighten to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
  3. Install the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts and tighten to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

    4. Object Number: 1850370 Size: SH
  4. Install the transmission vent hose to the retainers (6) on the mount assembly.
  5. Remove the transmission jack.
  6. Install the exhaust system.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
