Important: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables:

Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle , in order to verify that all of the following conditions are true:

•	No DTCs are set.

•	The control modules can communicate via the serial data link.

Refer to the system description and operation from the following list in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions:

•	Wiper/Washer System Description and Operation

•	Headlamp Washer System Description and Operation

•	Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the Windshield Wiper/Washer System. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories .

•	Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.

•	Inspect the washer fluid reservoir for the proper fluid level.

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

•	Low Washer Fluid Indicator Malfunction

•	Washers Always On

•	Washers Inoperative

•	Wipers Always On

•	Wipers Inoperative - All Modes

•	Wipers Inoperative - One or More Modes

•	Moisture Sensing Feature Inoperative

•	Headlamp Washers Inoperative

•	Headlamp Washers Always On
