Navigation Radio Replacement

Note: Before removing a Navigation Radio for replacement, the Radio must be put into "Ship Mode" to secure the CD Changer for shipment to the Electronic Service Center (ESC).

Note: The Ignition Switch must stay in the Accessory mode during Radio removal to ensure the navigation screen remains in the fully tilted down position.

To prepare the Radio for shipment, perform the following:

  1. Press the screen tilt down button three times so the screen is tilted in all the way.
  2. Connect the Tech 2 with the latesest software version.
  3. Place the ignition switch in the accessory
  4. Use the Tech 2 to put the Radio into Ship Mode:
  5. • Build the vehicle
    • F7: Body and Accessories - Entertainment
    • F2: Special Functions
    • F1: Navigation Radio
    • F0: Ship Mode - Select Ship Mode On
  6. With the ignition switch still in Accessory mode, Remove the Radio.
  7. Once the Radio is removed, turn the ignition OFF.
  8. Ship the Radio to the Electronic Service Center (ESC) for repair or exchange
  9. After installing the replacement radio, clear any DTCs that may have been flagged during the removal of the Radio.

Radio Theft Procedure

Complete the following procedure, using a scan tool, in order to properly set up communication:

  1. At the Main Menu screen, select Diagnostics.
  2. At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the following options:
  3. • Model Year
    • Passenger Car
  4. At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the appropriate model.
  5. At the System Selection Menu screen, select Body and Accessories.
  6. At the Body Screen, select Entertainment.
  7. At the Entertainment screen, select Module Replacement/Setup.
  8. At the Module Replacement/Setup screen, select Radio.
  9. At the Radio screen select VIN Relearn
  10. Select the appropriate radio type.
  11. Follow the on screen instructions.
  12. Press EXIT on the scan tool and cycle the ignition.

Parental Level Password Reset Procedure

Complete the following procedure, using a scan tool, in order to properly set up communication:

  1. At the Main Menu screen, select Diagnostics.
  2. At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the following options:
  3. • Model Year
    • Passenger Car
  4. At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the appropriate model.
  5. At the System Selection Menu screen, select Body and Accessories.
  6. At the Body Screen, select Entertainment.
  7. At the Entertainment screen, select Module Replacement/Setup.
  8. At the Module Replacement/Setup screen, select Navigation Radio.
  9. At the Navigation Radio screen select Special Functions.
  10. Select Parental Password.
  11. Select the Password Reset function. The Navigation Radio Password now has been disabled.
  12. Select a new password if desired.
