Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1285235 Size: SH
  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the front compartment sight shields as necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement in Body Front End.

    3. Important: Do not remove the engine control module (ECM) from the ECM bracket .

    Do not remove the ECM redundant ground wire from the ECM.

  3. Remove the ECM bracket bolts and reposition the ECM bracket in order to provide access.
  4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) actuator valve electrical connector.

  5. Remove the CMP actuator valve bolt.
  6. Remove the CMP actuator valve.
  7. Inspect the CMP actuator valve seal for damage. Replace the seal if necessary.

Installation Procedure
  1. Inspect the CMP actuator valve seal for damage. Replace the seal if necessary.

    2. Object Number: 1285237 Size: SH
  2. Install the CMP actuator valve.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the CMP actuator valve bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the CMP actuator valve bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the CMP actuator valve electrical connector.
  5. Install the ECM bracket with the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
  6. Install the front compartment sight shields as necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement in Body Front End.
