Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2006 🢒 SRX 🢒 HVAC 🢒 HVAC Systems - Automatic 🢒 Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1379002 Size: SH
  1. Remove the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement .
  2. Remove the HVAC module case screws.

    3. Object Number: 1379007 Size: SH
  3. Remove the HVAC module retainer clips.

    4. Object Number: 1379003 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the HVAC Module wiring harness (1) from the RH temperature actuator and reposition the wiring harness aside.
  5. Disconnect and reposition the evaporator core temperature sensor connector (2) and reposition aside.

    6. Object Number: 1378984 Size: SH
  6. Separate the HVAC module.

    7. Object Number: 1378986 Size: SH
  7. Remove the evaporator core.

    8. Object Number: 802751 Size: SH
  8. Remove the thermistor from the evaporator core.

Installation Procedure
  1. Add refrigerant oil to the evaporator core. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  2. Install the new evaporator core seals to evaporator.

    3. Object Number: 802751 Size: SH
  3. Install the thermistor to the evaporator.

    4. Object Number: 1378986 Size: SH
  4. Install the evaporator core.

    5. Object Number: 1378984 Size: SH
  5. Connect the HVAC module case halves together.
  6. Reposition and connect the evaporator core temperature sensor connector (2).

    7. Object Number: 1379003 Size: SH
  7. Reposition and connect the HVAC Module wiring harness (1) to the RH temperature actuator.

    8. Object Number: 1379007 Size: SH
  8. Install the HVAC module retainer clips.

    9. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the HVAC module case screws.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).
