J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1334995 Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Remove the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  4. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the heater outlet hose (1) from the heater pipe assembly.
  5. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the heater inlet hose (2) from the heater pipe assembly.

    6. Object Number: 1574001 Size: SH
  6. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the surge tank outlet hose from the heater pipe assembly.

    7. Object Number: 1574011 Size: SH
  7. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the heater pipe assembly from the heater core.
  8. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  9. Remove the heater pipe assembly retaining nuts.

    10. Object Number: 2013310 Size: SH
  10. Remove the heater pipe assembly and wiring harness retaining plate bolts.
  11. Remove the heater pipe assembly and wiring harness retaining plate.
  12. Reposition the engine wiring harness aside.
  13. Remove the heater pipe assembly.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the heater pipe assembly.
  2. Reposition the engine wiring harness into place.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the heater pipe assembly retaining nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in)

  4. Install the heater pipe assembly and harness retainer plate.

  5. Install the heater pipe assembly and harness retaining nuts.
  6. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.

    7. Object Number: 1574011 Size: SH
  7. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and connect the surge tank outlet hose to the heater pipe assembly.

    8. Object Number: 1574001 Size: SH
  8. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and connect the heater inlet hose (2) to the heater pipe assembly.

    9. Object Number: 1334995 Size: SH
  9. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and connect the heater inlet hose (2) to the heater pipe assembly.
  10. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and connect the heater outlet hose (1) to the heater pipe assembly.
  11. Install the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
