Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Note: Do not disconnect the power steering fluid lines/hoses from the reservoir.

  3. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir bolts and reposition the power steering fluid reservoir in order to provide access. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement.

  4. Object Number: 1285232  Size: SH
  5. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) actuator valve electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 1285234  Size: SH
  7. Remove the camshaft position actuator valve bolts.
  8. Remove the CMP actuator valve.
  9. Inspect the CMP actuator valve seal for damage and replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the CMP actuator valve seal for damage. Replace components if necessary.

  2. Object Number: 1285234  Size: SH
  3. Install the CMP actuator valve.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the CMP actuator valve bolt and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Object Number: 1285232  Size: SH
  7. Install the CMP actuator valve electrical connector.
  8. Install the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement.
