Power Steering Pump Replacement LH2

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  2. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  3. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 4.6L (LH2) engine.

  5. Object Number: 888270  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
  7. Disconnect the power steering pressure pipe from the power steering pump bracket.
  8. Disconnect the power steering pressure pipe from the power steering pump.

  9. Object Number: 888275  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering pump to engine mounting bolt.

  11. Object Number: 888277  Size: SH
  12. Remove the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.
  13. Remove the power steering pump with bracket from the vehicle.
  14. Remove the power steering pump to power steering bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump to power steering bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.
  2. Install the power steering pump with bracket to the vehicle.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 888277  Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  6. Install the power steering pump to the engine mounting bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Connect the power steering pressure pipes to the power steering pump.
  9. Install the power steering pressure pipes onto the power steering bracket.

  10. Object Number: 888270  Size: SH
  11. Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  12. Remove the drain pan under the vehicle.
  13. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  14. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 4.6L (LH2) engine.
  15. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  16. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.

Power Steering Pump Replacement LY7

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  2. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  3. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  4. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement for the 3.6L (LY7) engine.

  5. Object Number: 1300041  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
  7. Disconnect the power steering pressure pipe from the power steering pump.

  8. Object Number: 888286  Size: SH
  9. Remove the power steering bracket to the engine mounting bolts  (1, 2, and 3).
  10. Remove the power steering pump with bracket from the vehicle.
  11. Remove the power steering pump bracket from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump to the power steering pump bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.
  2. Install the power steering pump with bracket to the vehicle.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 888286  Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering pump bracket to the engine mounting bolts  (1, 2 and 3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  6. Connect the power steering pressure pipes to the power steering pump.

  7. Object Number: 1300041  Size: SH
  8. Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  9. Remove the drain pan under the vehicle.
  10. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  11. Install the air filter intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement for the 3.6L (LY7) engine.
  12. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  13. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
