Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

2

Verify that the Power Door Locks Inoperative - Key Cylinder Switches concern is present.

Does the Central Door Lock and Central Door Unlock systems operate as described in the Description and Operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn on the ignition switch, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Door Cylinder Switch parameter in the driver door module (DDM) data list.
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with the Central Door Lock feature (export), insert the door key into the driver door lock cylinder, turn it to the Lock position and hold it there for 3-5 seconds.
  5. If the door is equipped with the Central Door Lock Feature (Export), insert the door key into the driver door lock cylinder, turn it to the Unlock position and hold it there for 3-5 seconds.

Does the Door Cylinder Switch parameter change to the appropriate state as expected?
