Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Engine off, ignition on.
  2. Turn ON the radio.
  3. Operate all of the steering wheel controls.

Do all of the steering wheel controls operate properly?

Does one or more of the steering wheel control switches operate properly?

Warning: Refer to SIR Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Engine off, ignition on.
  2. Press and hold the steering wheel control select down switch.
  3. Measure the resistance between the remote radio control supply voltage circuit and the radio control signal circuit.

Is the resistance measured within the specified value?

2148-2625 ohms

Test the remote radio control supply voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Test the remote radio control signal circuit for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the instrument panel module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.
