J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Remove the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
4. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the heater outlet hose (1) from the heater pipe assembly.
5. Remove the heater outlet hose (1).

1. Install the heater outlet hose (1).
2. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and connect the heater outlet hose (1) to the heater pipe assembly.
3. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and connect the heater outlet hose (1) to the radiator hose outlet housing.
4. Install the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
3. Remove the cowl panel retaining bolts.
4. Remove the cowl panel.
5. Using J 38185 disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the heater outlet hose from the thermostat assembly connector.
6. Remove the outlet heater hose from the engine cooling thermostat assembly.



7. Using J 38185 , disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the heater outlet hose from the heater core connector.
8. Disconnect the heater outlet hose from the heater core.
9. Remove the heater outlet hose.

1. Install the heater outlet hose assembly into the vehicle.
2. Install the outlet hose to the heater core.
3. Using J 38185 slide the clamp back into the original position on the hose.



4. Install the heater outlet hose to the engine cooling thermostat assembly.
5. Using J 38185 slide the clamp back into the original position on the hose.
6. Install the cowl panel.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

7. Install the cowl panel retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (13 lb ft).

8. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
