Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
  2. Install the J 42640 to the steering column.

    3. Object Number: 2033720 Size: SH
  3. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut.
  4. Discard the steering wheel retaining nut.

    5. Object Number: 2033721 Size: SH
  5. Install J 36541-A and J 1859-A to the steering wheel.
  6. Tighten the puller center screw against steering column shaft until the steering wheel slides off the steering column shaft.
  7. Remove J 36541-A and J 1859-A from the steering wheel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2033720 Size: SH
  1. Install the steering wheel to the steering column, observing the alignment marks.
  2. Connect the electrical connector. Note the wire routing and route the harness and the inserts near the margine.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install a new steering wheel set nut.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Remove J 42640 from the steering column.
  5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
