HIGH COLD HORN BLOWING EFFORT CUSTOM STEERING WHEELS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982-85 Buick 'J', 'X', 'A' 'G', 'B', With Sport Or Custom Steering Wheel 1983-84 Buick 'E' With Sport Steering Wheel 1985 Buick 'C' With Sport Steering Wheel

During cold weather, the effort required to energize the horn may be higher than some owners desire due to the stiffness of the vinyl material horn pad/cap at low temperatures.

The horn/pad cap was changed in production to a softer vinyl June 12, 1984. To correct owner vehicles, the softer vinyl horn pad/cap is available as a replacement through the normal parts channels.

NOTE: Ornamentation on the 1984 custom pad is slightly reduced from 1983.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
