ENGINE OIL LIFE INDEX RESET PROCEDURES AND INFORMATION

SUBJECT: ENGINE OIL LIFE RESET PROCEDURES (INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989-93 "C,E,K,V" MODELS

This bulletin is being revised to include the 1993 model year

This bulletin supersedes all other published information on the procedures to reset the oil life index.

The following list provides the Driver Information Centre (Visual Information Centre) buttons to press to reset the oil life index.

1989-1991 Eldorados and Sevilles:

1. Press ENG DATA until oil life index is displayed.

2. Press ENG DATA and RANGE simultaneously until oil life index resets to 100 (hold about five seconds).

1992-1993 Eldorados and Sevilles:

1. Press INFORMATION until oil life index is displayed.

2. Press STORE/RECALL until oil life index resets to 100 (hold about five seconds).

1989 Toronados:

1. Press ENG DATA until oil life index is displayed.

2. Press ENG DATA and GAGE simultaneously until oil life index resets to 100 (hold about five seconds).

1990 Toronados:

1. Press ENG DATA until oil life index is displayed.

2. Press RESET/ENTER until oil life index resets to 100 (hold about five seconds).

1991-1992 Toronados:

1. Press OPTIONS until oil life index is displayed.

2. Press RESET/ENTER until oil life index resets to 100 (hold about five seconds).

1989-1992 Toronados Equipped with Visual Information Centre:

1. Press INFO hard key then OIL LIFE soft key to display oil life index.

2. Press RESET soft key until oil life index resets to 100.

1991-1993 DeVilles and Fleetwoods:

1. Press RANGE and FUEL USED simultaneously to display oil life index.

2. Press RANGE and RESET simultaneously until the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes (hold about five seconds). The oil life index will not remain displayed.

1989-1993 Allantes:

1. Press RANGE until oil life index is displayed. -

2. Press AVG SPEED and RANGE simultaneously until oil life index resets to 100 (hold about five seconds).
