Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Open any door.

Do the exterior courtesy lamps operate correctly?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents

Go to Step 3

Do the interior courtesy lamps illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

  1. Disconnect the outside rearview (OSRV) mirror connector from the driver door switch or passenger door switch.
  2. Test for continuity between the door exterior courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit and the door exterior courtesy lamp ground circuit of the OSRV mirror connector. Refer to Testing for Continuity .

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 6

Inspect the bulb for an open filament.

Is the bulb good?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door switch or passenger door switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Test for a short to ground or an open in the affected door exterior courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit and inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the OSRV mirror. Refer to Circuit Testing , Wiring Repairs , Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections , and Connector Repairs .

Replace the bulb. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Courtesy Lamp Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Replace the driver door switch or passenger door switch. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Replace the OSRV mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
