The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may complain about poor radio reception on Full Size Trucks and Utilities. This concern may be related to a loose radio antenna mast .
Recommendation/Instructions:
In an effort to allow the dealer and subsequently the customer to properly tighten their radio antenna mast to the base, a new orange or black plastic "wrench" will be shipped attached to the antenna mast starting mid-April, 2001.Dealers should utilize
this tool to properly attached the mast to the base and then remove the plastic orange or black wrench and place it in the glove box for the owner's use later.
Note: The only way to order a replacement wrench is to order a new antenna mast assembly.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
