J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 628247  Size: SH
  3. Remove the suction hose mounting bolt from the A/C compressor.
  4. Remove the suction hose (2) from the A/C compressor.

  5. Object Number: 363139  Size: SH
  6. Remove the suction hose nut from the accumulator.
  7. Remove the suction hose from the accumulator.
  8. Remove the suction hose assembly from the vehicle.
  9. Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the suction hose to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 363139  Size: SH
  3. Install the suction hose to the accumulator.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the suction hose nut to the accumulator.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the suction hose (2) to the compressor using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  8. Install the suction hose mounting bolt to the A/C compressor.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  10. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  11. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
