Shock Absorber Replacement 15 Series

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



2. Disconnect the electrical connector and air line if equipped with electronic suspension control (ESC).
3. Support the rear axle.
4. Disconnect the ESC sensor, if equipped. Refer to Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Left Side or Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Right Side in Electronic Suspension Control (ESC).



5. Remove the upper shock absorber nut and the bolt.
6. Remove the lower shock absorber nut and the bolt.
7. Remove the shock absorber.

1. Install the shock absorber.
2. Install the upper shock absorber nut and bolt.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the lower shock absorber nut and bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the upper and lower shock absorber nuts to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).




4. Connect the electrical connector and air line if equipped with RTD.
5. Connect the ESC sensor, if equipped. Refer to Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Left Side or Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Right Side in Electronic Suspension Control (ESC).
6. Remove the support from the rear axle.
7. Remove the safety stands.
8. Lower the vehicle.

Shock Absorber Replacement 25 Series

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Support the rear axle.



3. Disconnect the electronic suspension control (ESC) electrical connector at the pigtail connector left side only, if equipped.
4. Disconnect the ESC electrical connector at the top of the right side shock, if equipped.
5. Disconnect the ESC sensor, if equipped. Refer to Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Left Side or Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Right Side in Electronic Suspension Control (ESC).



6. Remove the upper shock absorber nut and the bolt.
7. Remove the lower shock absorber nut and the bolt.
8. Remove the shock absorber.

1. Install the shock absorber.
2. Install the upper shock absorber nut and bolt.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the lower shock absorber nut and bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the upper and lower shock absorber nuts to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).

4. Remove the rear axle support.
5. Connect the ESC sensor, if equipped. Refer to Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Left Side or Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Right Side in Electronic Suspension Control (ESC).
6. Connect the ESC electrical connector at the top of the right side shock, if equipped.



7. Connect the ESC electrical connector at the pigtail connector left side only, if equipped.
8. Remove the safety stands.
9. Lower the vehicle.
