Key Identification and Usage

The key is double sided and reversible. The key has 10 cut positions (1) with 4 different depths (2).

The master key may contain a transponder (3). This key will operate all of the locks on the vehicle (2004 and newer).

Cutting Keys

You can obtain the key code from the 5-digit number on the key tag that accompanies the original master key. The 5-digit key code cross references to the cut and tumbler sequence. The key s has 10 key cut positions (1) and 4 key cut depths (2). Key cut positions are numbered 1-10, counting from the head of the key to the tip. The key cut depths are 1 through 4, cut depth number 4 is the deepest cut (2004 and newer).

  1. Cut a blank key to the proper depth and sequence of each of the tumbler positions.
  2. Inspect the mechanical operation of the key in the lock cylinders, in the doors, the ignition switch, the rear compartment lid and any storage compartments:
  3. Ensure both sides of the key are cut correctly by inserting the key, rotating the cylinder, removing the key, inserting the key again 180 degrees (opposite) and rotating the lock cylinder again.

    • Turn the key both directions in each lock cylinder.
    • Turn the key with each side of the key pointing upward in each lock cylinder.

Console Key

Keys or the lock cylinder are not available separately To replace keys or the lock cylinder it will be necessary to replace the console lid assembly.
