This PI was superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions. Please discard PIT3327E.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some questions concerning what trips should be displayed on the DIC have been received. In most cases, these questions seem to arise after an IPC has been replaced or reprogrammed.

Which trip displayed will vary depending on if the vehicle is equipped with Steering Wheel Controls (RPO UK3) and the model year.

2003-2004 Models with Steering Wheel Controls: Will have a "Business" and "Personal" Trip.

2003-2004 Models without Steering Wheel Controls: Will only have a "Trip".

2005-2007 Models with Steering Wheel Controls: Will have Trip "A" and "B".

2005-2007 Models without Steering Wheel Controls: Will only have a "Trip".

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the vehicle is not displaying the correct Trip, this could be caused by either the IPC was not SPS programmed when replaced or the wrong IPC was installed in the vehicle.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
