This PI has been updated to include 2005-2006 Cadillac CTS UAV Navigation Radios. Please discard PIT3970.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When replacing the Navigation Radio RPO UM8, UAV or UA4, it may be noted that the default XM Band presets on the exchanged Navigation Radio recalls previously programmed stations but will display a different station. This is due to the XM Digital Radio
Receiver (DRR) storing the XM Band presets.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Do not replace the Navigation Radio or the DRR for this concern. This is normal operating characteristic when replacing and programming the UM8, UAV or UA4 Navigation Radio. To update the displayed Navigation Radio XM Band preset, reprogramming each XM
Band preset will be required.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
